Open Impeller Centrifugal Pump
In open impeller centrifugal pumps the vanes stand free on the back shroud; there is no front cover. Because the passages are open, liquids containing fibres, particles and suspended solids pass without clogging.

About Open Impeller Centrifugal Pump
The logic of the design is a trade: the efficiency advantage of a closed impeller is given up in exchange for clogging tolerance. On dirty water, process liquids carrying sediment and lines whose solids load rises seasonally, that trade makes sense. The open passage also makes cleaning and visual inspection easier.
On the stainless models in our catalog the pumped liquid temperature is -15 °C to +110 °C, rising to 120 °C with a special seal. Maximum working pressure is 8 bar. Connections are configured as DWC-N threaded or DWC-V victaulic; bodies are 304, 316 or 316L stainless steel. An intermediate coupling element that prevents the motor from being damaged by liquid leakage is standard.
For the compatibility of the stainless grade with your fluid, see our pump material selection guide and chemical compatibility chart.
