Vacuum Booster

A vacuum booster (Roots booster) is not a vacuum pump that works on its own: it is placed ahead of a backing pump and multiplies pumping speed in the pressure range the backing pump cannot reach alone.

About Vacuum Booster

The logic is this: an oil-sealed vane or liquid ring backing pump loses volumetric efficiency as pressure falls. Because the booster, with its two non-contacting rotors, can still move a high volume at low pressure, it maintains the system's overall pumping speed. A booster is therefore always sized together with the backing pump — the capacity ratio between the two determines the ultimate pressure the system will reach.

The model in our catalog has a capacity range of 330–11,000 m³/h.
