Pool Pumps

A pool pump's job is circulation, not pressure: the entire volume of the pool must pass through the filter within a given turnover time. Selection therefore starts from the flow found by dividing pool volume by the target turnover time; that flow must then match the flow rate the filter accepts. Oversizing the pump reduces filter efficiency and raises energy consumption.

The body and impeller are made of plastic, giving corrosion resistance against chlorinated and salt water. On pre-filter models the hair and leaf strainer basket protects the impeller from coarse debris and extends the maintenance interval. Single-phase models are aimed at domestic pools, three-phase models at commercial and high-flow installations.
